  Very exciting place to have brunch or early dinner as they have an equisite outdoor patio with lovely shaded greenery. All one needs's a chilled bottle from across the street! This restaurant has so many unique religious & non-religious scriptures and statutes which contribute to the fresh aroma of my favorite, shrimp chow mein with mixed vegetables with a warm cup of chai. Please visit this newly furnished restaurant as there's much to explore!

  Heard there is new ownership so had to give it a try, why not?!  They do offer DoorDash delivery but why is Bedminster New Jersey the only place in the universe that doesn't deliver?
  
  Phone order on Friday evening was a bit like having a bad cellphone connection, but I can work with that.  I'm embarrassed by now I cannot order Chinese food in perfect Mandarin dialect.
  
  Not sure how long this new ownership took over, but it sounds and feels recent. I walked in the wide open door and the emptiness swamped me.  You could hear a fly hitting the window 30 feet away.  The decor was based on large, open, unfurnished tile floor.  
  
  To me, this amplified the emptiness and absence of patrons outside a mature 5:00 couple brazen enough to suggest a bottle of wine could make a airport restroom charm.  I am not saying the restaurant even remotely resembles a restroom, it has design potential but so did my freshman college dorm room.
  
  But I'm all about the food.  This food overall used a lot of heat and oil, a lot of oil.  Way too much on all dishes. This is unhealthy cooking as served up this time.
  
  New Chu's Cafe badly missed my mark:
  
  Hot Spicy Jumbo Shrimp was supposed to have broccoli in it but menu change from on-line or so was one of a few misgivings in the aforementioned order entry process. It was tasty however and the vegetables and spices were good.
  
  Fried Rice with pork was overwhelmed with too much oil.
  Giant chunks of 'the other red meat', in fact Chinese food in general could benefit from use of that new 'non-meat, meat'.
  
  The stir fried beef and black pepper had the right flavor profile, very good but again the oil was way too much and the temperature may not have been high enough to actually fry the noodles which would have benefit from the crunch.  Too little chunks of beef for a feature dish protein.  Tasty but drowned in oil killed the overall dish.  
  
  We also ordered fried vegetable dumpling. When we got there to pick up our takeout, we were offered a substitute which we selected as Shrimp Dumplings.  They were steamed and not Fried, but tasted fishy and not appetizing. Everything was slippery from the phone, to walk-in without greeting, without joy of ownership, no gracious hospitality. More like a take-out joint in a strip mall....
  
  Egg rolls were ok but the cabbage flavor came through more than it deserves to.  
  
  So wanted to like you. Have been eating Chinese food in New Jersey over 60 years and House of Wong holds high bar locally in Bridgewater.

  So sad, and what a shame! This Chinese restaurant used to be so lovely, clean, fresh, delicious, and in such a nice, affluent area, at the top of The Hills, in Basking Ridge. We passed by last night, and it looked like a bomb went off inside! They had hand-written "HELP WANTED" signs posted throughout, and it smelled dirty, like some take-out place in Irvington. Not even 2 customers were inside having dinner (on a Sunday night). We left immediately. Not sure who is giving this 4 or 5 stars, but whoever it is, was never here 2-3+ years ago when the original owners were there. I WON'T EAT HERE AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU! They should gut the place, and renovate it fully...

  Such a big disappointment, probably the worst Chinese food I had tasted in years, not even comparable to the one you get at the mall or student cafeteria.
  Everything is so bland without any flavor, forget about spice! Not sure how they are in business within a neighborhood like this.

  I have some complaints
  1. My sister does not like Chinese food so she bought a pizza across the street and an employee or manager wouldn't let her eat the pizza inside until me and my party of 10 were going to leave.
  2. After an orchestra concert 5 kids and 10 adults ate there. The kids were talking in an appropriate voice level but yet the employees yelled at the kids and said that they could not talk but only whisper.
